For my year 2 Motion Design class, I produced a demo reel showcasing my top graphic and motion design pieces. This final project was a challenging assignment, but I poured my creativity and skills into it.
My demo reel features a number of projects I have completed throughout my college experience and they are all pieces of work I am proud of. I am excited to see what other great projects get added to the reel as I continue my career in the design industry.
To bring my vision to life, I mapped out a clear plan of attack. I knew that the intro would set the tone for the entire reel, so I focused on crafting a strong opening that would grab viewers attention from the get-go.
Next, I worked on creating seamless transitions between each of my projects, envisioning how each piece would flow into the next. With a clear roadmap in place, I added my carefully curated selection of work, fine-tuning it to match the music and enhancing it with creative effects and color correction.
When it comes to the software used to create my video, Adobe After Effects was the only program used to create my demo reel.
Using After Effects, I was able to expertly slice and dice my projects, weaving in music and seamlessly blending together a variety of effects and transitions. The result was a polished and cohesive final product that showcased my skills as a motion designer.
