Redshift Robot Animation

Description

This project was one I did on my own time to learn how to use Redshift with Cinema 4D. Through the project I learned how to properly create Redshift textures, lights, and much more, and I am very satisfied with the result.

The project started when I was doing an online course to learn Redshift, and I was rendering out still images of this very nice robot, and then the idea struck me. If I use Redshift to make the Robot look amazing, if I make an animation, it will look even better! And thats exactly what I did for many hours to come up with the video you see below.

The Plan

My plan was simple, animate the robot model that I already had, but during the project I kept having ideas that delayed and really tested my knowledge. The first idea was to make him evil, so I made the eyes red and made that big smile into a frown. Then I really wanted to test out the Redshift fire effects since I had not used them before (and what goes better with an evil robot than fire). Finally animating, and keyframing all the movements took a while, but I am extremely happy with the result and I love it.

I also took the video into After Effects to add the music, robot blinking at the end, and my tag and logo.

Software

The Software I used for this was Cinema 4D/Redshift for the 3D work and After Effects to finish editing and bring the whole project together.

Deep Trekker Animations

Producing sleek underwater 3D animations, I brought Deep Trekker's marine exploration technology to life.

Sports Data Visualization

I designed dynamic VFX for a sports data visualization project, vividly depicting a perfect bowling game in action.

Kirby 3D Remake

As I learned to model in 3D, I created my own version of Kirby and The Forgotten Land

HopBox Brewing

As an avid beer enjoyer, I designed my own brewery, along with all the beer can designs, and 3D modeled everything
